IPAF Instructor/Operation Specialist - UAE

Purpose / Overview

This role will be responsible for conducting IPAF training/ familiarisation training of AWPs. In addition to this purpose, “off-hire” inspections are also a component of the Operations Specialist’s role. Training may be applied at Instructor level - issuing licences or familiarisation level – issuing familiarisation certificates.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Plans and executes IPAF training sessions for Manlift customers according to Manlift and relevant rules procedures and processes.
  • Conduct IPAF training sessions at the centre and at site.
  • Understand all IPAF updates and MEWP state regulations.
  • Attend IPAF seminars and development programmes.
  • Liaises with customers providing reports on successful or unsuccessful candidates including follow up recommendations.
  • Supports and works within Manlift Way guidelines.
  • Adheres to minimum training requirements as stipulated by Manlift and relevant regulatory organisations.
  • Familiarise all new machines in the fleet.
  • Completes Fall-Arrest and Fall-restraint harness training sessions.
  • Conducts “walk – around inspections” of AWPs.
  • Conducts site surveys to pre-determine AWP model suitability for intended use and application.
  • Completes “post training” reporting requirements liaising with rental desk personnel and Regional Manager Operations.
  • Provides a supportive communication role between customer, Manlift sales representative, rental desk, and technical department.
  • Maintains accurate training records as per IPAF requirements and Manlifts requirements.
  • Performs regular application specific “Risk Assessments” - as requested.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Hindi, Urdu or Sinhalese dialect is a significant advantage.
  • UAE or GCC convertible drivers licence is essential
  • Preferred 3 years experience in operating various types of Aerial Work Platforms
  • IPAF Instructor licence in categories 1a, 1b, 3a, 3b & H
  • Current First Aid certificate (preferable)
  • Any type of “train the trainer” qualification is an advantage
(Note: Experience with Aerial work platforms can be attained via various means, therefore the specific experience vehicle / method is not specified. It is also noted that Manlift will train the successful candidate to IPAF “Demonstrator & Instructor” level early on in their employment)
