SHEQ Manager - India





The SHEQ Manager (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) is responsible for managing and improving organizational and team performance for all SHEQ functions. This includes policies, programs and projects within the organization that may be initiated by the management of Manlift. The SHEQ Manager also reviews, and updates institutional regulations based on local and governmental SHEQ policies. Furthermore, conducting risk assessments to detect potential hazards, with preparation and implementation of appropriate countermeasures for these hazards applies to the role.

  • Dotted line reporting from Regional Safety, Training and Compliance Manager

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Apply and implement the SHEQ strategy, policies, year plans, budgets and tools to set the standard across the organization e.g., “Corporate Social Responsibility”, “Manlift SHEQ Matrix”, “Sustainability goals”, Code of Conduct, and Quality including adopted ISO standards
  • Ensure that the SHEQ program is being fully integrated with “The Manlift Way”
  • Implement our SHEQ management system, manage performance against ISO45001 and implement other relevant standards such as ISO 14001 following local requirements’’
  • Report and analyse incidents, near misses and accidents and drive the prevention plans
  • Designing and implementing the annual SHEQ Training plan
  • Act as contact person for SHEQ issues to external and internal stakeholders
  • In conjunction with others evaluates suppliers & contractors for required competency levels
  • Ensure strong in Country adoption of best practice industry standards relating to the safe use of MEWP’s. (e.g. IPAF)

  • At least a PDIS in Post Diploma Industrial safety from RLI. (level 3)
  • Health and Safety technical degree (2-3 specialities)
  • Proven track record of at least successful 7-10 years in the same SHEQ function
  • Willing to travel Pan India
  • English and local language communication skills
  • Preferably background from hazardous industry with extensive experience and knowhow about safety requirements and certificates such as chemicals or height safety
  • Quick learner, eager to learn and develop
  • Teaching / Training qualification an advantage
  • A portfolio that demonstrates a successful “hands on” value adding role in SHEQ
