Track Unit
Manlift provides solutions for working safely and efficiently at height.
Al Fara’a Group is a large user of powered access in the UAE. After discovering Al Fara’a Group required GPS units fitted to their machines on a major project in the UAE, Manlift contacted them. They were already using a couple of other access hire companies who provided a GPS system, but they were not happy with how it functioned. Manlift presented Track Unit and now they are able to proceed with the job whilst accurately tracking their machines.
The customer
To install interior and exterior facades, our customer Al Fara'a was using various types of AWPs ranging from small electric scissor lifts, Bi-Energy Booms and diesel cherry pickers. Because the site was a large construction site with many AWP's throughout the site, it was difficult to locate a specific machine and also other contractors were prone to using machines from other companies without permission.
The solution
Initially an engineer was involved for an on site meeting with Al Fara'a, then the Manlift Middle East Country Manager got involved to kick things off who also included the hire desk to make them aware of the situation and understand the gravity of this opportunity. After discussing Al Fara'as needs and requirements the solution offered by Manlift included the Smart ID functionality to ensure that only authorised personnel in possession of a pin code were able to use the machines. In addition, Manlift provided an online web service, which enables Al Fara'a to view their machines locations.
Benefits for the customer
The Track Unit solution enabled Al Fara'a to easily track the exact location of their machines. In addition it led to less disputes, less down time and third party contractors no longer had unauthorised access to the Manlift AWPs. All under control with Track Unit.
